I’m really struggling to add a line/fence into my terrain to allow me to mark a retaining wall. It seems so easy on the tutorials, but it’s not click by click so I can’t see why what I’m doing is wrong. The help documents are so flowery I can’t make sense of them! When I embed the grouped line, it shows red on the terrain. I’ve fixed the edges bleeding. But when I use a brush like level it just ignores the fence, but glows red where the fence is. I’ve toggled things but really it’s sooo frustrating! It looks soooo easy on the tutorials!! IS there an easier tutotial out there?
You are right. It happens the same to me.
Maybe we need to book an online assistance.
Hi Alison!
Thank you. We all get stuck sometimes. Let me help you.
First, if you are on a paid license and want to learn fast, the best is often to Book a support meeting with Team Holygon. In Landshape, run command:
Support > Book Landshape Videomeeting
…and then follow the instructions.
This command may be worded slightly differently across versions, but does the same thing.
In a support meeting, Team Holygon will help you get unstuck and discover ways to use Landshape to achieve your particular purpose.
Would you like to book a meeting?
Some notes on what you are describing:
-
First, make sure you are running the latest version of Landshape. There is a new release after you posted above.
-
Holygon recognises that the written Learn Userguide is heavy on words. Learning by reading fits only some users’ learning style.
-
This said, if you do allow yourself the patience to read, the Learn Userguide will often contain the answer to your question. E.g. how to work with Embeds.
-
To help you and other visual learners, Team Holygon is working on publishing several new video tutorials this year.
We have made a quick microtutorial for you.
This video-only tutorial shows a visual example of how you can Embed, Fence, and Brush in Landshape. Hopefully, this helps anwer your questions above.
Try viewing or downloading the video.
• Does this help you?
Thank you. It helps a lot.
I’ll be waiting for the new video tutorials mentioned by Felix.
I have to confess that I’m a visual learner although I like to read a lot. I suggest to add more screenshots to the Userguide to make it a little more friendly.
Thank you again.
